Spring has arrived in the northern hemisphere and with it comes our latest quarterly release, Halon Engage 15. This isn’t just a new version. It’s a huge step in our broader journey: to reimagine email operations. 

Halon Engage 15 is a follow on from our previous launch which introduced Delivery Guru: Bounce Classification, our AI-powered bounce classification and remediation component. This release offers even more AI-enabled innovation, which will make your email operations more efficient and your infrastructure more performant, scalable, and competitive.

  • AI-powered Code Companion: Integrated into Visual Studio Code to help you write, understand, and debug Halon policy faster, as well as helping you edit the configuration files
  • New Delivery Insights: Instantly pinpoint queue issues, visualize delivery data, speed up root cause analysis and make adjustments; all from one web interface without the need to involve your DevOps team
  • OpenMetrics endpoint: Export container health to Kubernetes and load balancers with complete visibility

Meet Code Companion: Your AI copilot for faster time-to-market
 

At Halon, we believe AI should be a natural part of every email infrastructure workflow — from diagnostics to development. After introducing Delivery Guru last quarter to automate bounce classification, we're now expanding that vision into engineering.

Code Companion is our new AI-based assistant integrated directly into Visual Studio Code. It helps engineers author and troubleshoot both Halon's scripting language (HSL) and YAML-based configuration files with greater speed and confidence.  Code Companion integrates directly with Visual Studio Code to help you:

  • Autocomplete code, policy, and config files with context-aware suggestions
  • Receive explanations, identify errors, and troubleshoot faster
  • Learn as you build, with inline best practices and syntax help

Whether you’re new to Halon or an experienced developer, Code Companion serves as an intelligent assistant that reduces time to build and increases code quality.

And there’s more to come. Code Companion and Delivery Guru are early chapters in our larger roadmap to embed intelligence across the entire email pipeline—automating decisions, accelerating diagnostics, and enhancing control.

Smarter Delivery Insights

We reimagined Delivery Insights from the ground up, based on real-world workflows from operations and deliverability teams. The result? A clearer, faster, and more actionable experience that transforms how you manage delivery:

  • Spot which queues are in backoff or facing issues instantly
  • Drill into massive queues to specifically pinpoint problematic messages
  • Visualize queue contents by destination, tenant, campaign, and more
  • See historical queue performance and policy overlaps with clarity

OpenMetrics monitoring for elastic scaling

Halon Engage 15 introduces an OpenMetrics compatible monitoring endpoint to power orchestrators like Kubernetes and HAProxy. It exposes deep visibility into:

  • Container health and readiness
  • Real-time metrics for smarter scaling
  • Configurable health manipulation via API, CLI, or policy

This will make your infrastructure more elastic and observable than ever before.
